Candy Floss Mona Vale
Having lived on Sydney's Northern Beaches, getting up early in the morning to go and see what the sunrise would give was always a beautiful, peaceful time of day. I captured this piece from one particularly special morning in Mona Vale. The vibrant colours of the clouds immediately reminded me of candy floss on a stick—so bright and fluorescent.
Created with rich, heavy body acrylics on a cradled wood panel and worked entirely with a palette knife, the painting features thick, tactile textures that bring the movement of the coastal waves and shoreline to life.
