I’m Michelle Stone, a Sydney-based artist and photographer. I use my training in surface design and studio lighting to capture the inherent drama of the natural Australian environment—both the raw beauty of our coastal and inland terrains and the quiet elegance of still life subjects. Using my camera or drone, I focus on capturing these landscapes through their natural colours, textures, and light.

Back in the studio, I translate these captured scenes onto canvas. I utilise heavy impasto and deliberate palette knife techniques to create richly textured, sculpted layers that bring the raw spirit of the terrain to life.
